With Hope to Brazil

Teschery-Soir

God gave us an amazing opportunity to team up with brothers and sisters from “New field’s ministries” and take part in constructing a church building in Brazil. We worked with “New Field’s Ministries” before, in Russia, also building churches. The construction of this church took place in Teschery-Soir, where a local church of 50 members gathers. Under the leadership of Pastor Marcello, this local church houses a school for 150 children, and a day-care for 120.

Our main line of work in Brazil:

•Construction of Church buildings

It all started 9 years ago when we first went to build a house of prayer in the city of Novosibirsk. It was the so called “Ark” church, where our deaf-mute brothers and sisters congregate now. Then it turned into a tradition to use vacation time for trips to build churches. This year the Lord allowed us to build a house of prayer in Brazil. We had an unusual team with 14 people from America, Germany and Russia, and went there at the request of our brothers from the mission “To All Nations”. For over 13 years the land allocated for construction of the house of prayer remained vacant, and for the last two years the elders of the church there intensely prayed and searched for a construction crew. The need was great, the church had only 50 members, but with a school for 150 children and a day-care for 120 children, their mothers, fathers and relatives began coming to church as well. There was not enough room for everyone. For the time of our stay the church in Teschery-Soir canceled day-care, so we could use their facilities to sleep. The children gave us their beds and put a present on each bed in a form of postcards with Bible verses and sweets. Our arrival also added work for the cooks, we needed good nutrition and they did not let us down. Everything was very tasty, but most importantly, it gave us strength to work for 18 days straight without disruption and disease. We had help from six missionaries from Germany who were already there before we arrived. The delivery of building materials was very well organized: sand, cement, bricks and gravel always came at the right time thanks to the pastor of the church Marcelo and his wife Olga. We experienced one setback when two concrete mixers did not withstand the strain and broke down. One lady, who became a believer in the previous Sunday service, did find us a new mixer the next morning! Before we departed, Pastor Marcelo let us know, that they bought materials on credit from local building supply stores in the sum of $15,000 in order to create a scope of work for us. We only had about $4000 with us that we could give them. We asked the pastor how much time they will need to complete the construction by themselves and pay off the debts, the answer was - five years. We have already scheduled more trips to Russia, Transnistria and Brazil. If you would like to be in our team of builders, please call or write to New Fields Ministries Inc. May God bless all those, who participated in our trip to Brazil, both financially and donated time to work. The Lord will reward you according to the riches of His grace.
